Isn't that amazing?! Even if you don't know the characters, I think it can still move someone. I just love the music and cinematography.

Samantha: For the Record
Britney Spears was never in my top ten as an artist.... Her songs are the equivalent of junk food; fun to dance too yet lacking depth. However, I am seeing her in concert come March 23, go ahead, call me a hypocrite. But everyone needs some mindless fun!

I've never really followed Britney's life and all I know are snippets of it, such as the Vegas marriage, K-Fed and shaving her head. I thought she was just some shallow hick from Louisiana who made it big. However, the magnitude of success Britney achieved cannot go overlooked. You do need a great deal of wit and intuition to make it that far.
Recently I saw Britney: For the Record. I was astonished at how sympathetic I turned out to be for her. She wasn't even saying "oh woe is me, my life sucks" she was very upbeat. But it was the clips of her traveling in the big, black, tinted window Cadillac Escalade that got me. In one clip, her window was down and a creeper resembling a pedophile sung eerily and out of tune, "womanizer, womanizer, womanizer," over and over as he followed her window on a rusty bike. Just the uncomfortable tension I felt in that moment broke my heart. It was uncanny to the numerous times I would walk down a certain busy street near my house and have at least several cars slow down as they passed me, whistling or saying something inappropriate.

Every time I encountered one of those moments, a drop of my innocence was lost and that void would fill with hatred and fear. It is extremely unfair that just because I am an attractive, young, female that unwanted attention is thrust upon me. Same for celebrities. Just because you see them on screen, or listened to their song does not give you the right to invade their personal space just for sheer attention seeking or to get a reaction.
Madonna appeared on the documentary as well. I was aware of her interest in Kabbalah, but I didn't know how legitimate to her life it was. It was so wonderful to hear what she had to say about Britney's situation and her potential for growth. It was so spiritual and uplifting, she said things such as, tapping in the universal frequency and finding ones path -- experiencing what seems to be a series of random events but then realizing the overall growth and message they presented through coincidences. However, I don't think that Britney will grasp her growth to the degree Madonna did, but I can see the budding potential.
There was a rather magical scene where Britney tells her assistant (and close friend) to close her eyes and picture a door. She tells her to open the door, there the friend sees to a blinding white light, in the white light, the friend sees a number from one to ten. Britney asks her if she sees the number. The friend answers, yes. Britney then closes her eyes. A few beats of solemn silence. "Is you number 3?" she asks. The reply, "Yes! It is!"
Some might think this is silly and unimportant. But I believe there are no coincidences. I believe, the reason Britney was able to guess the number 3 was not because of sheer luck, it was because of energy and intuition. Why 3 and not 4? Our guts are more powerful than we think. Depending on how much we concentrate, our guts or intuition, whatever you wanna call it, can tap into others. We are all frequencies interacting with one another to different degrees. It is possible that one can be totally out of sync with the world and experience random, meaningless, unlucky events -- or one can tap into that universal frequency, whether through meditation or positive thinking or doing what you love (dancing for Britney, drawing and writing for me, maybe sports or something else for somebody different), and find your place in this beautiful web of events...a fulfilling and positive life.
The reason I say this is because in my life I've experience a ridiculous number of dejavu, "lucky" guesses, and coincidences. I've also observed that the harder I concentrate on something, the stronger the coincidence. Call me crazy, but it gets me through the day. Do you agree? Disagree? Why so?
